Important changes to Transperth services across the metropolitan area

Effective: Sunday 28 June 2009

From Sunday 28 June 2009, there will be changes to train and bus services across the metropolitan area. This is primarily to allow for the introduction of new railcars into service.

To ensure the efficient use of these new railcars a review of the current train services has been undertaken. This review of the system has meant that, from 28 June, there will be time and frequency changes, as well as changes to the number of railcars operating on particular timetabled services.

Transperth have taken the opportunity to also review the bus network, both train feeder services as well as non-feeder services. This review has meant that some bus services will also experience time and frequency changes, as well as changes to some routes to make efficient use of bus services to meet passenger demand.

As these changes affect many bus and train services throughout Perth, Transperth strongly recommends that passengers check below as to whether their service has changed.

Train changes

Armadale and Thornlie Lines

The Armadale and Thornlie Line timetables are not affected by this change.

Fremantle Line

Service operating times, frequencies and stopping patterns have been modified for selected train services. Passengers are asked to refer to the new timetable.

W pattern services between Whitfords and Perth will not operate during off peak periods from 28 June 2009.

From 28 June 2009 W pattern services will operate as follows:

The last morning W pattern service:

To Perth departing Whitfords at 9.19am and arriving at Perth Station (platform 9) at 9.37am
To Whitfords departing Perth Underground Station at 8.49am, arriving at Whitfords at 9.07am.

The first afternoon W pattern service:

To Perth departing Whitfords at 2.28pm and arriving at Perth Underground Station at 2.46pm
To Whitfords departing Perth Underground Station at 2.57pm and arriving at Whitfords at 3.15pm.

Mandurah Line

Service operating times, frequencies and stopping patterns have been modified for selected train services.

W pattern services between Cockburn and Perth will not operate during off peak periods from 28 June 2009.

To Cockburn departing Perth Underground Station at 2.00pm and arriving at Cockburn at 2.19pm.

Additional Service Information Route 212 The terminus for route 212 services extending to Southern River has been altered and is now located on Castlewood Pkwy. Services to Perth will now depart Castlewood Pkwy, turn left Edencourt Dr to resume normal route. Services from Perth will now travel normal route to Edencourt Dr right onto Castlewood Pkwy, turn at the intersection of Castlewood Pkwy and Aldenham Dr, continue along Castlewood Pkwy to a terminus south of Edencourt Dr. Route 322 Current route 322H service departing Midland Station at 7.40am will be replaced by a new school day only route 322S trip departing Midland Station at 7.35am. School day only route 322 departing Midland Station at 7.35am will travel its normal route but will deviate to Bilgoman Pool via Hillsden Rd, Lionel Rd, Gt Eastern Hwy and Darlington Rd and extends to Eastern Hills High School via Statham St, Marnie Rd and Hardey Rd. Route 336 Current school day only route 336 departing Morley Bus Station at 3.05pm has been deleted. This service will be replaced with a new route 336 short service departing from a stop on Drake St outside John Forrest Senior High School at 3.08pm. This service will travel via Drake St, left Broun Av to resume normal route to terminate at Ellenbrook Transfer Station. From here passengers can transfer to routes 338 or 336 both departing Ellenbrook Transfer Station at 3.42pm. Route 338 School day only route 338 departing Ellenbrook Transfer Station at 3.35pm has been deleted due to low patronage. Route 400 An additional morning trip will now operate between Scarborough and Perth in response to passenger feedback. This service will depart Scarborough Beach at 5.26am to arrive at Wellington St Bus Station at 5.58am. Route 458 Route 458 services operating between Whitfords Station and Scarborough Beach will undergo timetable changes to ensure that they maintain connection times with routes 400 and 408 operating between Glendalough Station and Scarborough Beach. Route 391 Route 391S currently departing Alpina Prm at 7.53am will be deleted due to low patronage. Current school day only route 391H departing Alpina Prm at 7.56am will become a regular route 391 service operating Monday through Friday all year round. Route 490 An additional school day only trip will now operate in the morning and afternoon. The additional morning trip will depart Two Rocks Shopping Centre at 7.04am to arrive at Clarkson Station at 7.57am. The additional afternoon trip will depart Clarkson Station at 4.00pm to arrive at Two Rocks Shopping Centre at 4.54pm. Route 517 The Southern River terminus for route 517 has been altered and is now located on Castlewood Pkwy. Services to Murdoch Station will now depart Castlewood Pkwy, turn left Edencourt Dr to resume normal route. Services from Murdoch Station will now travel normal route to Edencourt Dr, right onto Castlewood Pkwy, turn at the intersection of Castlewood Pkwy and Aldenham Dr, continue along Castlewood Pkwy to a terminus south of Edencourt Dr. Route 591 Selected weekday and weekend route 591 services will now deviate to Bridgewater Lifestyle Village in Erskine. These deviating services will be shown on the timetable as 591V services. Route 591V services will operate normal route from Mandurah Station until Bower Dr where it will deviate to Bridgewater Lifestyle Village via Oakleigh Dr. Services will turn around at the intersection of Oakleigh Dr and Samphire Dr to resume normal route. Route 591V services departing Erskine will travel normal route to Oakleigh Dr where it will deviate to Bridgewater Lifestyle Village. Services will turn around at the intersection of Oakleigh Dr and Samphire Dr, continue along Oakleigh Dr, left Bower Dr to resume normal route. Joondalup CAT routes 12 and 13 Joondalup CAT routes 12 and 13 will be deleted due to low patronage. School Special 710 - Eastern Hills Senior High School School Special 710 will now depart from Craig St, Mundaring at 8.22am and arrive at Eastern Hills Senior High School at 8.34am. School Special 711 - Eastern Hills Senior High School School Special 711 will now commence from a stop on Thomas Rd after Hardey Rd to travel normal route to Eastern Hills Senior High School. Students previously travelling on School Special 711 from Darlington Rd, Mayhew Rd, Fischer Rd, Stone Cr, Lionel Rd, Hillsden Rd, Glen Rd, Leithdale Rd, Ryecroft Rd, Glen Forrest Dv or Hardey Rd will now need to utilise a new route 322 trip departing Midland Station at 7.35am. Please refer to the information above on this new route 322 trip. Passengers are also able to pick up an updated timetable available from your bus driver, major bus/train stations and any Transperth InfoCentre from Monday 15 June 2009.
