Transperth ANZAC Day Dawn Services

Transperth is proud to provide a number of special bus and train services so you can pay your respects and remember our fallen service men and women on ANZAC Day.

Event and ticketing information

In recognition of the great sacrifice made by the men and women of our armed forces, all veterans, serving and returned service personnel wearing service uniforms, campaign ribbons or medals can travel FREE on ANZAC Day.

All remaining passengers who are ineligable to access the ANZAC Day or seniors free travel entitlement will need to buy a ticket.  Just choose the ticket that is right for you. Use your SmartRider or a DayRider for great value fares, or if you are travelling as a group, use Transperth's FamilyRider* ticket and save.  *FamilyRider allows system-wide travel for up to seven people - two of which can be standard fares.

KINGS PARK DAWN SERVICE

Historical footage commences at 4.15am.  Service commences at 6.00am.  Please note there is no vehicle access to Kings Park via Fraser Ave and limited parking is available.

Depart between 5.05am and 5.20am from Red CAT stop 30 outside Wellington Street Bus Station.

Services will travel all stops to Perth.  Please note: services will not stop at Esplanade Station. 

After the Dawn Service, all train services will operate according to a public holiday timetable.

Buses

Timetabled bus services will operate across the Transperth network on a public holiday timetable.  In addition to this, Transperth will provide the following special bus services:

Perth to Kings Park: Route 620

FREE special shuttle Route 620 operates for the Kings Park Dawn Service, connecting with trains arriving at Perth and Perth Underground stations. Shuttle services depart from the following locations:

  • Armadale/Thornlie, Fremantle and Midland lines: Shuttle services depart from Red CAT stop 30 outside the Wellington Street Bus Station between 5.05am and 5.30am.
  • Joondalup and Mandurah lines: Shuttle services depart from Stand W2 on William St, between Murray St and Hay St between 5.05am and 5.20am.

After the dawn service, a return shuttle bus service will operate to Perth Station where all services will run to a public holiday timetable.

Vietnam Memorial to State War Memorial: Route 621

Free special shuttle Route 621 operates every five minutes between the Vietnam Memorial and the State War Memorial from 4.45am until the beginning of the main service. A return service to the Vietnam Memorial operates after the dawn service until approximately 7.30am.

Passengers should note that deviations will be in place due to road closures to facilitate ANZAC Day services and parades. Further information will be available closer to the event.

FREMANTLE MEMORIAL DAWN SERVICE

The Fremantle Memorial Dawn Service commences at 5.30am at Monument Hill.

Trains and buses

A special Fremantle Line ANZAC Day train shuttle will depart Perth Station at 4.17am to arrive at Fremantle Station at 4.45am.  

A shuttle bus service (Route 622) to Monument Hill will depart Fremantle Station at 4.50am.

After the Dawn Service, a return shuttle bus to Fremantle Station will operate where all train services will run according to a public holiday timetable.
