Regional town services within Geraldton
When travelling on TransGeraldton services within Geraldton the new free entitlements can only be accessed via SmartRider, Transperth’s electronic ticketing system. This means you must have a Seniors SmartRider or the new Pensioner SmartRider to travel for free during the free entitlement period.
How do I apply for a SmartRider?
Aged and Disability Support Pensioners
If you are an Aged or Disability Support Pension cardholder, you can apply at your nearest SmartRider Sales Outlet. In Geraldton, this is Rocks Lottery Centre and Newsagency in Marine Terrace. Call the Transperth InfoLine on 13 62 13 to ask for an application to be sent to you in the post.
If you are an Aged or Disability Support Pension cardholder with an existing Concession SmartRider, you will need to have your card reprogrammed to become a Pensioner SmartRider. You can do this at Rocks Lottery Centre and Newsagency in Marine Terrace
WA Seniors
If you are a WA Seniors cardholder and already have a Seniors SmartRider you do not have to do anything else to take advantage of the new free travel entitlements. The SmartRider system has automatically adjusted your card to include the new free travel arrangements. If you do not have a Seniors SmartRider and believe you are entitled to one, then call the WA Seniors Card Centre on 6217 8855 (or country free call on 1800 671 233) to apply.
How do I access the free travel entitlement?
To access the new free entitlement you must be in possession of either a Seniors SmartRider or Pensioner SmartRider. When you want to travel on TransGeraldton you simply tag on and tag off all TransGeraldton services for SmartRider to accurately calculate the lowest fare applicable, including free journeys.

It is important that you tag on and off all services, regardless of whether you are travelling within a free travel entitlement period.
