Effective: Sunday 4 March 2007

MultiRiders will no longer be sold from Sunday 4 March 2007. MultiRiders can still be used after 4 March for a period of five weeks to enable passengers to use their remaining MultiRider value.

After this date, passengers will be able to transfer any remaining value to a SmartRider by completing a MultiRider Transfer form.

Forms will be available at SmartRider Retail Sales Outlets, Transperth InfoCentres or on the Transperth website from Sunday 4 March 2007.

Phasing out MultiRider

When SmartRider is fully operational, the MultiRider ticketing system will be discontinued.

To make the transition to SmartRider easier for passengers, Transperth will phase out the MultiRider system as follows:

Staged replacement of MultiRider

1. Full introduction of SmartRider

  • From 14 January 2007,  SmartRider cards become available for purchase from Transperth InfoCentres and authorised SmartRider Retail Sales Outlets across the Perth metropolitan area.
  • From 4 March 2007, MultiRiders will no longer be sold.
  • SmartRider system will operate in parallel with the existing MultiRider system to allow passengers to use any remaining value on MultiRider tickets.

2. Withdrawal of MultiRider

  • From 8 April 2007, MultiRider ticketing system will be withdrawn from use. Processors will be removed and MultiRider tickets will no longer be accepted on any Transperth bus, train or ferry service.
  • Passengers who have any remaining value on their MultiRider will be able to transfer this value to their SmartRider card by completing a MultiRider Transfer form, available from 4 March 2007.

  What if I haven’t used my MultiRider credit when SmartRider is introduced?
    

SmartRider will replace the MultiRider ticketing system from 8 April 2007. 

From 4 March 2007, MultiRiders will no longer be sold and the SmartRider system will operate with the existing MultiRider system to allow passengers to use remaining MultiRider credit.

From 8 April 2007, MultiRiders will be withdrawn and unused value can be credited to a SmartRider.

  Do I have to use SmartRider?
    

No. You can still buy cash tickets once the SmartRider system is fully implemented. Remember, SmartRiders only replace the current MultiRider system.

MultiRiders will be phased out after SmartRider implementation. Seniors free travel is only available to SmartRider holders.
