Exceptions to tagging on and off
As a general rule, you must always tag on and tag off at the end of each leg of a journey. Failure to tag off may result in a default fare being charged which may be higher than your normal fare. Failing to tag on is considered fare evasion and subject to fines under the Public Transport Authority Act 2003 and Public Transport Authority Regulations 2003.
