Where to tag on and tag off

Bus

Every bus has a SmartRider processor located near the front and rear doors. Passengers can only board at the front doors but may alight and tag off at either the front or rear doors. You must wait until the bus stops before tagging off. A ‘Wait for Stop’ message will appear on the rear processor if the bus is not ready for tag off. This will change to ‘Present SmartRider’ when the bus is ready to accept tag off.

Train

Open train stations are equipped with SmartRider processors to allow passengers to tag on and tag off. Closed train stations are equipped with automatic fare gates to allow passengers to tag on or tag off using SmartRider processors located on the fare gate.

Ferry

Every ferry has a SmartRider processor on board for passengers to tag on and tag off.
