Transperth changes in Mandurah, Madora Bay, San Remo and Silver Sands

Effective Sunday 18 December 2011

As part of Transperth’s ongoing commitment to providing quality, integrated public transport, from Sunday 18 December 2011, there will be changes to services in Mandurah, Madora Bay, San Remo and Silver Sands.

Services will change as follows:

Route 583:  Mandurah Station to Silver Sands via Peel St - new route

  • New Route 583 will operate daily between Silver Sands (Mandurah Tce and Orion Rd) and Mandurah Station via Peel St and Allnutt St
  • Route 583 will be co-ordinated with the new Route 584 service
  • Route 583 will provide a faster, more direct path for residents to Mandurah Station and provide improved public transport access for residents along Peel St
  • Silver Sands passengers wishing to access Mandurah Forum will now transfer at Mandurah Station for the Mandurah Shuttle (new routes 588 and 589) or routes 591, 592, 594 or 597
  • Route 583 will operate selected weekend services deviating to Dolphin Quay Mandurah Ocean Marina.
  • Route 583 will be a fully accessible route

Route 584:  Mandurah Station to Madora Bay via Peel St -new route

  • New Route 584 will operate daily between Madora Bay (Madora Beach Rd near Sabina Dr) and Mandurah Station via Peel St and Allnutt St
  • Route 584 will be co-ordinated with the new Route 583 service
  • Route 584 will provide a faster, more direct path for residents to Mandurah Station and provide improved public transport access for residents along Peel St
  • Silver Sands and Madora Bay passengers wishing to access Mandurah Forum will now transfer at Mandurah Station for the Mandurah Shuttle (new routes 588 and 589) or routes 591, 592, 594 or 597
  • Route 584 will be a fully accessible route

Route 588: Mandurah Shuttle (Clockwise) - major route change

  • The existing Route 588 will be withdrawn and replaced by the new Route 588 Mandurah Shuttle which will travel a clockwise circular route from Mandurah Station to Mandurah Station via Mandurah Forum and the Mandurah Foreshore
  • New Route 588 will no longer service Silver Sands, with Mandurah Tce north of Peel St now being serviced by new routes 583 and 584 (see above)
  • New Route 588 will operate every 20 minutes during peak, every 15 minutes between the peak periods and every 30 minutes at night. Services will operate every 15 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays during the day
  • Route 588 will be a fully accessible route

Route 589: Mandurah Shuttle (Anti-clockwise) - major route change

  • The existing Route 589 will be withdrawn and replaced by the new Route 589 Mandurah Shuttle which will travel an anti-clockwise circular route from Mandurah Station to Mandurah Station via Mandurah Foreshore and the Mandurah Forum
  • New Route 589 will no longer service Silver Sands with Mandurah Tce north of Peel St being serviced by new routes 583 and 584 (see above). Mandurah Rd and Madora Bay will be serviced by new Route 584 (see above)
  • New Route 589 will operate every 20 minutes during peak, every 15 minutes between the peak periods and every 30 minutes at night. Services will operate every 15 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays during the day
  • Route 589 will be a fully accessible route
  • Route 589 will appear on the updated Southern 135 timetable.

Route 590:  Mandurah Station to Mandurah Foreshore - route withdrawal

  • Route 590 will be withdrawn and replaced by the Mandurah Shuttle Service (new routes 588 and 589 mentioned above).

There are no changes to Routes 558, 586, 587, 591, 592, 594, 597, 598 or any Transperth school routes at this time.

Updated timetables will be available from your bus driver, major bus and train stations and any Transperth InfoCentre from Tuesday 13 December.
