Concession entitlements
Western Australian secondary school students must present a Student SmartRider as proof of identification for concession entitlements on all Transperth, regional town bus and Transwa services.

Secondary students with Student SmartRider identification are entitled to use Transperth's 50c student fare. Students will pay a maximum of 50c when travelling to or from school on a Transperth bus, train or ferry or on any regional bus service, regardless of how many zones they travel. Students can only obtain the Student 50 cent fare by using their Student Smartrider.Normal transfer rules apply.
50 cent student fares are valid during the following periods:
- Available from Monday to Friday from the first gazetted school day of the year to the last gazetted school day of the year
- Available during the mid-year school term holidays and on any public holidays that fall from a Monday to Friday during the school year
- Not available on weekends and on any day during the summer school holiday period
- Normal concession fares will be charged outside this period, that is weekends and on any day during the summer school holiday period.
