50 cent student fare
Sales of the 50 cent student MultiRiders will cease on 1 October 2006. After this time, school students who wish to purchase a 50 cent student fare on Transperth services must use their Student SmartRider.
Primary students can now apply for a Student SmartRider by downloading an Application for Student SmartRider form here. As a special introductory offer, the $5.00 card purchase fee will be waived for the remainder of the 2006 calendar year. School students can continue to use up their 50 cent student MultiRider until the value is depleted. Click here to go to the Student SmartRider page.

Students using 50 Cent Student concession fare must stand for adults
Over the last 12 months, Transperth has taken a position of encouraging students using the 50 cent student fare to stand for adults, particularly adults with special needs (e.g. seniors, people with disabilities and pregnant women).
Transperth is now undergoing a process to enforce this position as a condition of purchase of the 50 cent student fare. This means that all students accessing the discounted 50 cent student fare either by Student MultiRider or Student SmartRider must stand for adults.
If asked by an adult, or a Transperth representative, holders of the 50 cent student fare will be obliged to offer their seat.
Transit Officers, SecureForce Officers and other authorised officers will enforce this regulation once the policy has been amended. The 50 cent student fares offers great benefits to students, with these benefits comes the expectation that students will stand and offer their seats to adults whenever requested to do so.
