CAT Services

Central Area Transit (CAT) buses are free. You may get on and off them as often as you like without paying a fare.

Our CAT (Central Area Transit) buses operate in the Perth CBD, Fremantle and Joondalup.

We use a colour-coding system in each area are to identify the different routes.

Perth CATs

Transperth’s CAT buses offer you a free, fast and convenient means of travelling around the Perth CBD. Whether you are in the CBD for shopping or travelling to an appointment, our CAT services make it easy to move around the city.

Blue CAT

Travels North/South between Perth Busport and Kings Park, via Perth Station and Elizabeth Quay Bus Station.

Operates every day of the year, excluding Good Friday, Anzac Day and Christmas Day.

Green CAT

Travels between Elizabeth Quay Bus Station and Leederville Station, via City West Station.

Operates Monday to Friday.

Red CAT

Travels East / West between Matagarup Bridge (East Perth) and West Perth, via Perth Station and Perth Underground Station.

Operates every day of the year, excluding Good Friday, Anzac Day and Christmas Day.

Yellow CAT

Travels between Claisebrook Station (East Perth) and West Perth, via Perth Station.

Operates every day of the year, excluding Good Friday, Anzac Day and Christmas Day.

Fremantle CAT

The Blue CAT bus offers a free, fast and convenient means of travelling around Fremantle

Blue CAT

Travels north-south between Fremantle Station and Douro Road.

Operates approximately every 20 minutes every day of the year, excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day.

Joondalup CATs

 

Transperth’s CAT buses offer you a free, fast and convenient means of travelling around the Perth CBD. Whether you are in the CBD for shopping or travelling to an appointment, our CAT services make it easy to move around the city.

Blue CAT

Starts and finishes at Joondalup Station and travels in a clockwise direction via Lakeside Dr.

Operates approximately every 15 minutes, Monday to Friday excluding public holidays

Red CAT

Starts and finishes at Joondalup Station and travels in an anti-clockwise direction via Lakeside Dr.

Operates approximately every 15 minutes on weekdays, excluding public holidays.

Yellow CAT

Starts and finishes at Joondalup Station and travels in a loop around Edith Cowan University.

Operates approximately every 15 minutes, Monday to Thursday on ECU days only.
