Opening Celebration for the Kwinana Freeway Extension and Forrest Highway

10.00am to 12.00pm
To commemorate the historic opening of the new Forrest Highway, an official ceremony will be held at the Pinjarra Road interchange on Sunday 20 September. Free shuttle buses will be provided to the event from three locations for those travelling from Perth.
There will be no parking provided at the event, so attendees are strongly encouraged to make use of the free bus shuttles provided.
The free shuttles will operate as follows:
Mandurah Station to Opening Ceremony - Route 600
To ceremony: Route 600 shuttles will leave from Stand A1 at Mandurah Station. The first shuttle will depart at 9.00am and will operate approximately every 10 minutes. The last shuttle to the ceremony will be at 11.20am.
From ceremony: Returning route 600 shuttles to Mandurah Station will depart from a staging area on the southbound lanes north of Pinjarra Rd Bridge. Shuttles will operate as required on the day with the last shuttle departing at 12.00pm sharp due to traffic management.
Stockland Baldivis Shopping Centre to Opening Ceremony – Route 603
To ceremony: Route 603 shuttles will leave from bus stop 23885 at Stocklands Baldivis Shopping Centre. The first shuttle will depart at 9.00am and will operate approximately every 20 minutes. The last shuttle to the ceremony will be at 10.40am.
From ceremony: Returning route 603 shuttles to bus stop 23884 (Safety Bay Rd after Nairne Dr) will depart from a staging area on the southbound lanes north of Pinjarra Rd Bridge. Shuttles will operate as required on the day with the last shuttle departing at 12.00pm sharp due to traffic management.
Pinjarra to Opening Ceremony – Route 604
To ceremony: Route 604 shuttles will leave from James Street opposite Tuckeys Mitre10. The first shuttle will depart at 9.00am and will operate approximately every 10 minutes. The last shuttle to the ceremony will be at 11.20am.
From ceremony: Returning route 604 shuttles to James Street (opposite Tuckeys Mitre10) will depart from a staging area on the southbound lanes north of Pinjarra Rd Bridge. Shuttles will operate as required on the day with the last shuttle departing at 12.00pm sharp due to traffic management.
Guided bus tours will also be available on the day and will operate as follows:
Opening Ceremony to the Anstey Wetlands – Route 601
Tours will operate from the opening ceremony to the Anstey Wetlands north along the new Forrest Highway. Tours will operate as required between 9.30am and 11.00am. Each tour will take approximately 40 minutes.
Opening Ceremony to new artwork site – Route 602
Tours will operate from the opening ceremony to a new artworks site along the new Forrest Highway. Tours will operate as required between 9.30am and 11.30am. Each tour will take approximately 12 minutes.
