Contactless payments are live!
Contactless payments are now available on Transperth. Use your Visa or Mastercard or pay seamlessly with your digital wallet.
All contactless payment transactions will be charged at the standard cash rate. If you’re eligible for a concession, you’ll still need to use your SmartRider.
What you need to know
- To avoid a default fare, ensure you are tagging on and tagging off with the same card or device. Your physical and digital cards are considered different payment methods.
- Only present one card or device against the validator to avoid a card clash or the wrong card being charged.
- Your card information is encrypted; so, you can sit back and enjoy the ride knowing your personal details are secure.
- New revenue inspection devices will be used to check your card or device to ensure you have a valid ticket.

Transaction history
To review your transactions and journeys visit the customer portal below. You will only be able to see contactless payments transactions within this portal. To view SmartRider transactions login to MyAccount.
You can access through the customer portal up to 35 days of trips and payments made with your contactless payment card.
Each time you access your activity, a temporary pre-authorisation hold of $0 may appear on your bank statement in order to verify your card. How long it remains depends on your bank.
By accessing the customer portal, you consent to the use of your personal information to verify your identity and retrieve your fare and journey information for the past 35 days.
