The Transperth app is changing, and we want to know what you think!

We’re looking for a select group of passengers to be the first to test exciting new features to help passengers get the most from public transport. You’ll have the chance to win $75 value on your SmartRider.

As an app tester, you will take part in a four to six-week trial, using the app as you travel and completing some quick weekly surveys on your findings online. Some testers will also be asked to give one-on-one interviews. You’ll need to download a preview version of the app via our tester system to your mobile phone, and we’ll send you regular instruction emails, so you’ll always know what to do next.

Your input will help us improve the app and the experience for everyone who uses public transport in Perth. Your thoughts and opinions will go directly to our developers who’ll use them to make the app run as efficiently as it can.

If you complete all steps of the testing, you’ll automatically be entered into the draw to win $75 value on your SmartRider. To register your interest, fill out a few details about yourself and we’ll be in touch if you’re selected to take part.

Frequently Asked Questions

I did not receive a welcome email, what do I do?

Please make sure you check the email account you provided when you signed up to the beta test. If you are certain you did not receive an email after checking the email you gave us, please fill out this survey and we will send you another.

I cannot download the app via the Google Play link?

If you are unable to download the app via the Google Play link, make sure that:
  1. You are using an Android device to access this link (this link will not work for iOS devices)
  2. You are accessing the link with the email address you used when you signed up to the beta test; and
  3. The email address you used is linked to your Google Play account.
If the email address you used is NOT linked to your Google Play account, you will need to update your details with us.

If you do not have a Google Play account, you will have to create one. Once you have created the account, please fill in the email verification survey.

I did not receive an email from TestFlight?

If you did not receive a TestFlight email please check the email you used when signing up for the beta test is correct, then check your spam folder. If your email is correct and you didn't receive email, complete this survey.

I received a redemption code, but I'm unsure of what to do with it?

If you have received a redemption code with TestFlight, please follow these steps to get the app on your iPhone:
  1. Install the Testflight app on your iPhone
  2. Tap the redeem button on the top right of the Testflight app
  3. Enter the redemption code you receive.
Keep in mind this only works if your software version is iOS 8.0 or higher.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Registering for the Transperth app testing group does not guarantee an entry into the competition.
  2. Users selected to participate in the General app testing group for iOS or Android automatically receive one (1) entry into the competition upon completion of the requirements of the Transperth app trial and entrants shall agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
  3. The app trial requirements must be met by Friday 30 November 2018. PTA’s decision as to whether an individual has met the requirements to be entered into the competition is final and PTA will not enter into any correspondence in this regard.
  4. The maximum number of entries into the competition per individual is one (1).
  5. The promoter of this competition is the Public Transport Authority (PTA),Level 1, Public Transport Centre, West Parade, Perth WA 6000 [ABN 61 850 109 576].
  6. The competition is a game of chance with 10 prize winners selected on the day of the draw to win $75 credit added to their SmartRider cards.
  7. The prize draws will be conducted by the PTA. PTA’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. The draw will be conducted at the PTA’s offices: Level 1, Public Transport Centre, West Parade, Perth WA on or before Thursday 31 January 2019.
  9. Prize winners will be contacted via nominated phone number or email after the draw to confirm their prize.
  10.  The prizes are non-transferable and any additional costs or requirements associated with these prizes are the winner’s responsibility.
  11. Entrants accept that if they win a prize, the PTA will have the right, without additional payment or permission, to use their name for the purposes of announcing the winners of this competition and they may be required to participate in post-event publicity.
  12. The names and addresses of prize winners will be shared with the PTA’s agents to the extent necessary for prizes to be delivered to the prize winners only.
  13. Other than as set out in paragraphs 11 and 12, the personal details of entrants will not be used for purposes other than participation in the Transperth app trial, this competition, or to enable PTA to compile a customer database for marketing purposes  or future promotions.
  14. Only winners will be notified.
  15. PTA and associated agencies accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, death or injury resulting from the trial of the app or this competition.
  16. Participants must be aged 13 years or over and if less than 18 years of age the participant’s parent or legal guardian is deemed to have accepted and be bound to these Terms and Conditions.
  17. Any person that is an employee of the PTA is not eligible to enter the competition.
