The current closure of the Armadale Line (between Armadale and Gosnells stations) will be extended until last service Wednesday 14 April. This extension is due to unforeseen technical issues with METRONET's Denny Avenue Level Crossing Removal Project works.

Train services will continue to be cancelled between Gosnells and Armadale stations with replacement buses operating during this time.

Regular services are anticipated to resume from first service Thursday 15 April.

The works include the replacement of the Denny Avenue level crossing in Kelmscott, which will be replaced with a four-lane underpass at Davis Road, eliminating waiting time and increasing the safety of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

There are also platform extension works at Perth Stadium Station to allow for future train services to Cockburn as part of the Thornlie-Cockburn Link.

FAQs

Why is this happening?
As part of METRONET’s Level Crossing Removal program, the Denny Avenue level crossing in Kelmscott will be the first crossing to be removed. The disruption allows rail works to take place before the new underpass at Davis Road can open, eliminating waiting time and increasing motorist, cyclist and pedestrian safety. In addition, there are also platform extension works at Perth Stadium Station to allow for future train services to Cockburn as part of the Thornlie-Cockburn Link.
