Joondalup Line and Perth Station Escalators
Updated - Monday 22 June 2020
Works are continuing on escalators on the Joondalup Line and at Perth Station.
These works are being undertaken to maintain and bring back into service a number of escalators along the Joondalup Line that were experiencing some issues.
Some of these escalators have been unavailable for a significant amount of time due to the need to replace a critical part, which is now possible. We have come to an agreement with the manufacturer to perform essential maintenance and repair works to rectify these ongoing issues.
Works are currently underway on one escalator at Stirling Station. Works on this escalators are expected to be complete by late-June.
Works on the escalator at Glendalough Station were completed on Monday 22 June.
The next stage of works will take place at Joondalup and Perth stations:
- One escalator will undergo works from Tuesday 9 June until the end of August.
- The escalator travelling up from Platform 7 to the Eastern Concourse will undergo works from Thursday 18 June until early September
- The escalator travelling up from Platform 5 to the Eastern Concourse will undergo works from Thursday 18 June until early September.
- Once work on these escalators are complete works will commence on the down escalators on each platform.
This project will continue on escalators at these stations:
Each station will have one escalator unavailable at a time, with these works expected to take approximately three months per escalator to complete. This page will be updated with further detail as works progress so check back regularly.
These works are expected to be complete mid-2021.
