Checking your SmartRider card balance

You can check your SmartRider card balance in the following ways:

Tagging on and off

You can check your SmartRider card balance by reading the processor every time you tag on or tag off.

At Add-Value Machines

To check your SmartRider card balance using an AVM, simply place your card on the SmartRider card holder and your card balance will be displayed.

Transperth InfoLine

Call the Transperth InfoLine on 13 62 13 (TTY: 9428 1999, TIS: 13 14 50) and an operator will be able to advise you of your card balance.

Note: Balances via the Transperth InfoLine are at least one day behind the balance recorded on the SmartRider card due to time delays in transmitting the current day’s transactions.

SmartRider Retail Sales Outlets and Transperth InfoCentres

Take your SmartRider card into an authorised SmartRider Retail Sales Outlet or Transperth InfoCentre where staff will be able to tell you your remaining balance.

Checking your SmartRider card balance online

You can check your registered SmartRider’s card balance and transaction history online using Transperth’s TravelEasy service. Click here to register for TravelEasy.

TravelEasy also allows you to receive email updates on Transperth service changes such as special events or route changes which are relevant to you.

To access your SmartRider card balance and transaction history online, you must:

  1. Register your SmartRider. Click here for further information. Concession, Seniors, Student and Tertiary SmartRiders are automartically registered.
  2. Register with TravelEasy at www.transperth.wa.gov.au. Balances shown online are current up to the previous day only.

The TravelEasy registration box is located on the homepage. Please complete all fields including the ‘My profile’ page, the ‘Routes/Information’ page and the ‘My SmartRider’ page.

Benefits of the online balance  

You can check your registered SmartRider’s card balance and transaction history online using Transperth’s TravelEasy service.

The online balance displays information such as:

  • Boarding and alighting history - including zonal information
  • Fares charged
  • Add value transactions
  • Card balance (note information shown is current up to the previous day only)
