The Armadale Line now offers more transport options for Perth’s south-eastern suburbs. Whether you’re commuting into the city, heading out for the day, or catching up with friends and family, getting around just got a whole lot easier.

Armadale Line

Armadale Line train services operate as follows:

 

Armadale Line Reopening 

  • Trains operate between Byford and Perth stations 
  • Beckenham passengers can take an Armadale Line or Thornlie–Cockburn Line train between Beckenham and Perth stations
  • There has been changes to Optus Stadium special event services. 

Train Services - Byford to Beckenham

Train services between Byford and Beckenham stations will operate:

  • Every 7.5 minutes during peak
  • Every 15 minutes during the day
  • Every 30 minutes during the night

BUS SERVICES

A new bus network has been introduced to efficiently connect surrounding suburbs to the new train station and improve connections through Perth’s southern suburbs.

The network includes significant changes to existing routes. While bus stop signage is being updated, information may be missing for short periods. During this time, please use the QR code on the stop or call the Info Line on 13 62 13.

Armadale Station

Armadale Station is located at Fourth Rd and Commerce Ave between Sherwood and Byford stations and is approximately 39 minutes to the Perth CBD.

At Armadale Station there are:

  • Over 150 car parking bays
  • Secure parking for bikes
  • Accessible toilets
  • New public spaces

The following bus routes operate at Armadale Station:

  • Route 219 to Kelmscott Station via Albany Hwy, operating every 60 minutes with 7 trips each way
  • Route 220 to Perth Busport via Albany Hwy, operating approximately every 20 minutes during peak
  • Route 243 to Kelmscott Station via Seville Dr, operating approximately every 30 minutes during peak
  • Route 244 to Kelmscott Station via Braemore St, operating approximately every 15-30 minutes during peak
  • Route 245 to Kelmscott Station via Westfield Rd, operating approximately every 15-30 minutes during peak
  • Route 246 to Hilbert via Forrest Rd, operating approximately every 15 minutes during peak
  • Route 249 to Hilbert via Rowley Rd, operating approximately every 30 minutes during peak
  • Route 250 a circular route from Armadale Station via Brookdale, every 15 minutes during peak
  • Route 251 to Byford Station via South Western Hwy, operating every 30 minutes during peak
  • Route 519 to Murdoch TAFE via Ranford Road Station and Murdoch Station, operating every 30 minutes during peak
  • Route 529 to Cockburn Central Station via Armadale Rd, operating every 15 minutes during peak.

Service frequencies are approximate and reflect weekday peak periods. Not all services will operate on weekends or Public Holidays.

Byford Station

Byford Station is located at Pitman Wy and Furnace St after Armadale Station and is approximately 46 minutes to the Perth CBD.

At Byford Station there are:

  • Approximately 400 car parking bays
  • Secure parking for bikes
  • Accessible toilets
  • New public spaces.

The following bus routes operate at Byford Station:

  • Route 251 to Armadale Station via South Western Hwy, operating every 30 minutes during peak
  • Route 254 operating as a clockwise circular route to West Byford via Karden Bvd and Indigo Pkwy, every 15-30 minutes during peak
  • Route 255 operating as an anti-clockwise circular route between West Byford via Indigo Pkwy and Karden Bvd, every 15-30 minutes during peak
  • Route 256 a circular route from Byford Station via Kokoda Bvd, operating every 15-30 minutes during peak
  • Route 259 to Mundijong Town Centre via Whitby, operating approximately every 15-30 minutes during peak
  • Route 262 to Jarrahdale Town Centre via Whitby and Mundijong Town Centre, operating as a limited service with 6 trips each way on a weekday and 1 trip each way on a Saturday.

Service frequency are approximate timings and are weekday peak periods, not all services will operate on weekends and Public Holidays.

Travelling with Transperth

New to travelling on our services? Here are some things you’ll need to know.

Ticketing
 

Transperth's two-zone fare cap means that you'll never pay more than a two-zone fare no matter how far you travel. You can use a SmartRider or buy a cash ticket* and both can be used across all Transperth train, bus and ferry services. 

SmartRiders

SmartRider is a reusable smart card which can save you up to 20% off your fare**. They are available to buy at Transperth InfoCentresretail sales outlets and SmartRider Hubs.

SmartRider Hubs have been installed at Nicholson Road, Ranford Road and Thornlie stations. SmartRiders are $10 each and you will need to load a minimum of $10 onto the card during the purchase. 

Cash Tickets

These can be purchased onboard buses or from ticket machines at train stations and ferry jetties. 

Every Sunday Free

Every Sunday, travel is free for all SmartRider holders. You will need to tag on and off with your SmartRider but you will not be charged a fare.

Free travel is available on all Transperth bus, train and ferry trips from first service until last service.

Please note that the free travel does not apply to late night services after midnight on Saturday and if you are travelling without a SmartRider then you will need to purchase a cash ticket.

*Please note no change will be given if you pay with cash onboard a Transperth bus. If you must pay with cash, then please pay with the exact money. To find out how much your fare will be please plan your journey on the Transperth JourneyPlanner or visit Transperth fares.

**Using the Autoload feature.

Parking
 

If you are driving to the station you can park for just $2 a day*, Monday – Friday using our SmartParker system. Your ticket is valid for up to 24 hours and parking is free on weekends and public holidays. Visit Parking for more information about SmartParker.

Changes to Optus Stadium Events

With the reopening of the Armadale Line, there will be changes to special event services at Optus Stadium.

Train Services

  • Trains will operate between Perth and Byford stations, including Perth Stadium Station
  • Beckenham passengers will be able to catch a Thornlie-Cockburn Line train or Armadale Line train to Perth Stadium Station.

Event Bus Services

  • Routes 651 and 660 no longer operate due to the reopening of the Armadale Line. Passengers can catch an Armadale Line train between Perth Stadium and Byford stations
  • Route 656 now operates from Southlands Boulevarde Shopping Centre in Willetton, passengers in Canning Vale can catch a direct train to Perth Stadium Station from Ranford Road or Nicholson Road stations.
