Free late night train service
Late night visitors to Perth and Northbridge on Saturday nights can continue to get home before sunrise as Transperth extends the trial of the ultra-late train services on Saturday nights.
The Saturday night services (technically Sunday morning) will continue for another 12 months from April 2012.
Unfortunately, the Friday night ultra late train services were poorly patronised over the course of the trial and so will not be continued past 27 April 2012.
The free late night trains will depart Perth and Perth Underground stations on all lines* at 2.15am every Friday night and at 2.15am and 4am every Saturday night (technically Saturday and Sunday morning). These services will also continue to be offered free of charge.
Please note: Esplanade and McIver stations will not be serviced by the 4am train. The 4am train departing from Perth Underground towards Mandurah will run express to Canning Bridge Station and then all stops to Mandurah.
Transperth recommends passengers book a taxi or organise a lift home from the station as there will be no connecting buses to meet these services.
*Late night train services will operate on the Armadale, Fremantle, Joondalup, Mandurah and Midland lines. Thornlie passengers will need to book a taxi or organise a lift home from Cannington Station.
