Fringe World Festival 2020

Perth has come alive again with annual, summer celebration, FRINGE WORLD Festival 2020 which runs from Friday 17 January to Sunday 16 February.

Take a break from driving and take Transperth to one of the many festival hubs located a short walk from frequent bus and train services. Parking is also free at all our stations on the weekend.

Catch a Joondalup, Mandurah, Fremantle, Midland or Armadale line train into Perth or Perth Underground stations and walk across the overpass to the Cultural Centre.

Monday-Friday:
Trains on all lines operate to Perth every 15 minutes until around 8.30pm (Armadale/Thornlie until 7.30pm) Monday – Friday, then every 30 minutes until around midnight.

Saturdays:
Trains operate approximately every 15 minutes until 7.00pm on Armadale/Thornlie lines, 8.00pm on Joondalup/Mandurah lines and 8.30pm on Fremantle/Midland lines, then every 30 minutes until around midnight.

Sundays and Public Holidays:
Trains operate approximately every 15 minutes until around 7pm (Fremantle/Midland until 8.30pm), then every 30 minutes until around midnight. Note: Thornlie line runs at a 30 minute frequency all day on Sundays.

Buses
Take the Blue CAT or bus routes 41, 42, 48, 55, 60, 66, 67, 68 or 950, which stop frequently along the west end of Beaufort St, next to the Cultural Centre. Alternatively, take any bus to Perth Busport which is a 4-5 minute walk away.

Woodside Pleasure Garden
Russell Square on James St

Trains
Catch a Joondalup, Mandurah, Fremantle, Midland or Armadale line train into Perth or Perth Underground stations and walk across the overpass to the Cultural Centre.

Take the Blue CAT from outside Perth Station to Russell Square, stopping along James St or Shenton St. Alight at Stop 10 for Russell Square.

The Blue CAT operates from Beaufort St Bridge, Stop 4, during the following times:

6.52am - 6.52pm approximately every 8 minutes
7.00pm – 12.15am approximately every 15 minutes (Fridays only)

Saturday
8.36am - 7.06pm approximately every 10 minutes
7.21pm - 11.51pm approximately every 15 minutes

Alternatively, take any bus to Perth Busport which is a 10 minute walk from the Pleasure Garden.

Corner of Roe St and Lake St

Trains
Catch a Joondalup, Mandurah, Fremantle, Midland or Armadale line train into Perth or Perth Underground stations. Once you’re at Perth Station, take the Yagan Square exit and turn left onto Roe St. The Ice Cream Factory is a five minute walk away.

Monday-Friday:
Trains on all lines operate to Perth every 15 minutes until around 8.30pm (Armadale/Thornlie until 7.30pm) Monday – Friday, then every 30 minutes until around midnight.

Saturdays:
Trains operate approximately every 15 minutes until 7.00pm on Armadale/Thornlie lines, 8.00pm on Joondalup/Mandurah lines and 8.30pm on Fremantle/Midland lines, then every 30 minutes until around midnight.

Buses
Catch a bus arriving at Perth Busport and exit through Yagan Square. Turn left onto Roe St and walk approximately 5 minutes.

Yagan Square

Yagan Square is located in between Perth Busport and Perth Station. Virtually any Transperth bus or train into the city will drop you at the doorstep of Yagan Square.

Aces at The Maj
His Majesty’s Theatre

Trains
Catch a Joondalup, Mandurah, Fremantle, Midland or Armadale line train into Perth or Perth Underground stations. From here, take a 6-7 minute walk to the Theatre on Hay Street or catch the Red CAT which stops outside His Majesty’s (Stop 13).

Monday-Friday:
Trains on all lines operate to Perth every 15 minutes until around 8.30pm (Armadale/Thornlie until 7.30pm) Monday – Friday, then every 30 minutes until around midnight.

Saturdays:
Trains operate approximately every 15 minutes until 7.00pm on Armadale/Thornlie lines, 8.00pm on Joondalup/Mandurah lines and 8.30pm on Fremantle/Midland lines, then every 30 minutes until around midnight.

Sundays and Public Holidays:
Trains operate approximately every 15 minutes until around 7pm (Fremantle/Midland until 8.30pm), then every 30 minutes until around midnight. Note: Thornlie line runs at a 30 minute frequency all day on Sundays.

Buses
Take any bus to Elizabeth Quay Bus Station which is a 5-6 minute walk away or to Perth Busport which is a 6-7 minute walk away.

Alternatively, catch any bus stopping along St Georges Tce and walk down King St to His Majesty’s, or the Red CAT to Hay St (Red CAT Stop 13 – His Majesty’s) Theatre.

The Red CAT operates during the following times:
Monday to Friday
6.00am - 6.45pm approximately every 5 minutes
7.10pm - 8.00pm every 10/15 minutes (Fridays only)
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays
8.30am - 6.00pm approximately every 10 minutes

East Perth

Hubs Travel Information

Girls School
2 Wellington St, East Perth

We will be operating a free FRINGE CAT between Perth Station and the Girls School during the Festival. 

The FRINGE CAT will operate from Perth Busport to the Girls School every 15 minutes from the following times:

- 7.00pm to 9.45pm from Perth Busport
- 7.35pm-11.20pm from Girls School (and until 12.05am on Friday and Saturday nights)

Alternatively, you can take Route 960 from Perth Busport to the Girls School.

Scarborough

Hubs Travel Information

Trains
Take a Joondalup Line train to Stirling Station and transfer to bus routes 421 or 422 to Scarborough Beach Bus Station. Trains to Stirling operate approximately every 15 minutes until 8pm, then every 30 minutes until midnight.  

Buses
Alternatively, bus Route 990 travels to Scarborough Beach Bus Station from Perth Busport via Glendalough. On weekdays buses operate approximately every 15 minutes until around 9pm, then every 30 minutes until around midnight. On weekends and public holidays, buses operate approximately every 15 minutes until around 7.30pm then every 30 minutes until midnight (Saturday) and around 10.45pm (Sunday & Public Holidays). Route 990 buses are even more frequent between Glendalough and Scarborough Beach Bus Station.

Bassendean

Hubs Travel Information

Wonderland at WonderRealm

Wonderland at WonderRealm is a three minute walk from Bassendean Station, which is on the Midland train line.

Midland Line trains operate approximately every 15 minutes until 8.00pm, then every 30 minutes until midnight.

Midland Station is a 6-10 minute walk to any of the three venues which make up The Pickled Swan.

Subiaco

Many Subiaco venues are located within an easy walking distance from Subiaco Station which is on the Fremantle train line. Trains to Subiaco operate approximately every 15 minutes until 8.30pm, then every 30 minutes until midnight.

South Perth

Southside Summer
Mends St Jetty,
The Windsor Hotel, Perth Zoo

Many South Perth venues are located within easy walking distance from Mends Street Jetty. Ferries from Elizabeth Quay to South Perth operate approximately every 15 minutes until 11.30pm.

Please note on Sunday 26 January, ferry services will operate on a Sunday timetable until 12pm only. After this time, both the Mends Street Jetty and the Elizabeth Quay Ferry Terminal will be closed due to the closure of the Swan River.
