Perth CBD New Year's Eve Services 2025-26

Wed 31 Dec - Thu 01 Jan

Heading into the city to celebrate New Year's Eve? Avoid traffic by taking Transperth instead!

Transperth will be operating plenty of additional services from midnight, and travel is free from midnight until 6.00am on 1 January 2026. You don't need to purchase a ticket or tag on and off with your SmartRider or contactless payments - just hop on and enjoy the ride home safely.

Important Information:

From 5pm on New Year’s Eve, Elizabeth Quay, Supreme Court Gardens and Barrack Square will be filled with entertainment for the City of Perth’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. Firework displays will take place at 8.30pm and midnight.

To ensure the safe movement of passengers after the 8.30pm fireworks:

  • Yanchep Line passengers must board trains from Perth Underground Station.
  • Only Mandurah Line passengers can board trains from Elizabeth Quay Station.

This arrangement will be in place between 8.30pm and 10.00pm only and does not impact those exiting from Elizabeth Quay Station.

If you're driving to one of our stations, you will still need to pay for parking as New Year’s Eve is on a weekday, parking is free on weekends and public holidays. For more information, click here.

Plan your journey using the Transperth JourneyPlanner before you travel.
