From Wednesday 31 January 2024, Transperth will operate a small number of additional school days only trips on the Route 253 bus service between Jarrahdale, Mundijong, Byford and Armadale Station.
The new services will provide for improved travel opportunities to Court Grammar School and Byford Secondary College as well as provide a new travel option for students attending Salvado Catholic College and improved commuter access into Armadale.
In early 2024 new bus stops will be installed on Chestnut Road, King Jarrah Circle, Marginata Parade and Jarrahdale Road in Jarrahdale, in addition to those stops already present along the route.
Routes 251, 252 and 254 will also undergo minor time changes to coincide with this service change.
The new bus Timetable 21 will become effective Sunday 28 January, with additional school day only trips commencing Wednesday 31 January 2024. Students attending private schools which elect to commence classes prior to the State Government gazetted term commencement (Wednesday 31 January) should note that additional school day only services will not operate until State schools commence on Wednesday 31 January.
The Transperth JourneyPlanner and Contact Centre will be updated with additional services above from mid January 2024 to include the new services.
Families currently being transported by School Bus Services have been contacted directly about the withdrawal of selected orange school bus services and to advise of individual Route 253 trips relevant for their children.
