Midland and Airport Line - Shutdown

Midland and Airport Lines – Shutdown 

As part of METRONET'S New Bayswater Station Project, there will be essential works on the Midland and Airport lines resulting in a shutdown from first service on Friday 31 March until last service on Tuesday 25 April 2023.

The last full line services Thursday 30 March will depart:

  • Perth to Midland: 12.02am
  • Midland to Perth: 12.00am (midnight)
  • Perth to High Wycombe: 11.47pm
  • High Wycombe to Perth: 11.48pm.

During the Shutdown, train replacement buses will operate between Perth and Midland, and Perth and High Wycombe stations. 

Services will resume from the start of timetabled services Wednesday 26 April.

Access to Bayswater Station will remain closed until September 2023 for continued works; a shuttle bus will be available between Bayswater and Meltham stations during this time.

Train Replacement Buses

During the Shutdown, train replacement buses will operate between Perth and Midland, and Perth and High Wycombe stations. 

  • Route 900- Express to Bassendean (peak only)
    Operates peak-time Perth to Bassendean, all stops to Midland  
  • Route 901 - Stops all stations to Midland
    Operates from Perth to Midland stopping all stations, all times. 
  • Route 902 - Stops all stations to High Wycombe 
    Operates from Perth to High Wycombe stopping all stations, all times. 

Special Events

Some events will be impacted by this disruption, however, additional public transport services will be scheduled as required for large-scale events, such as AFL at Optus Stadium and ANZAC day. 

Plan Your Journey

Passengers should allow extra travelling time and be aware that replacement buses may not connect with timetabled bus and train services.

Remember to plan your journey; the train replacement bus timetable will be available via the Transperth app and JourneyPlanner.

You can also use the Transperth app to track your replacement bus in real time.

Bikes and eRideables on board buses

Due to space restrictions, bicycles are not permitted on Transperth buses, including train replacement services. There are also restrictions on carrying eRideables and scooters on board.
