Kick off 7.30pm 

Your match ticket to Chelsea FC v Perth Glory includes travel on all Transperth services for three hours either side of the game (special event buses only operate one hour after the final siren). If asked, proudly show off your ticket to the driver or inspector. 

Keep in mind, you must have your match ticket on you to travel for no extra cost. If you’re planning on collecting your ticket at the venue, you will need to pay a normal fare to get there.

Getting to and from Optus Stadium

Transperth operates an integrated public transport plan to connect event-goers with the Perth CBD and wider metropolitan area. A map of the Optus Stadium precinct centre can be found here.

Buses


The Suburban Event Bus Network will not be operating before the match. 

Here is a list of alternative bus services to reach the city, where you will need to transfer to a train to Stadium Station, or circular route 661 bus shuttle to Matagarup Bridge Bus Stands.

Matagarup Bridge Bus Stands

With the opening of Matagarup Bridge, the Transperth special event bus network has undergone changes.

Route 661 CBD Shuttle

This service will run as a circular route, anti-clockwise before the game and clockwise afterwards, operating to and from Matagarup Bridge Bus Stands (on the East Perth side of the bridge) via Wellington St, Milligan St, and Adelaide/St Georges Tce. Passengers will need to walk over Matagarup Bridge to get to Optus Stadium.

Route 661 will no longer enter Elizabeth Quay Bus Station so passengers will need to board from St Georges Tce (Stops 10116 and 10119). The new route will also stop on Wellington St, near Perth Busport.

Perth Stadium Bus Station – changes to departure stands

The following routes will undergo stand changes:

  • Route 650 will now depart from stands 18 - 22
  • Route 654 will now depart from stands 12 and 13, on the west side of Perth Stadium Bus Station
  • Route 656 will now depart from stands 10 and 11
  • Route 657 will now depart from stands 8 and 9.

Trains


To get you to the match, trains stopping at Perth Stadium Station depart Perth Station approximately every 7 minutes, from 2.37pm.

If you’re leaving early you will need to take a Perth train shuttle from the Eastern Concourse.

Armadale Line To: Take an Armadale Line train straight to Perth Stadium Station. To get you to the match, trains will depart Armadale approximately every 15 minutes, from 2.15pm.
  From: The last train departs Stadium Station at 12.07am (midnight). Trains will depart from Platform 5/6 via the Eastern Concourse.
Thornlie Line To: Trains stopping at Perth Stadium Station will depart Thornlie approximately every 15 minutes from 2.35pm. 
  From: Take the Armadale Line to connect with train replacement buses (Route 908), operating between Thornlie and Cannington Stations. There will be no trains to Thornlie from Perth between 8.17pm and 11.17pm. 

Fremantle Line

To: There will be no express Fremantle Line services operating before the match. 
Take a timetabled Fremantle Line service to Perth Station and change to a Stadium train shuttle departing approximately every 7 minutes, from 2.37pm.
  From: Trains depart Platform 3 via the Western Concourse and travel express to City West then all stops to Fremantle between 9.31pm and 10.28pm. If you’re leaving early you will need to take a Perth train shuttle from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to a timetabled service.
After 10.28pm take a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Fremantle Line. The last connecting train departs Stadium Station at 11.49pm.
Joondalup Line To: There will be no express Joondalup Line services operating before the match. 
Take a timetabled Joondalup Line service to Perth Underground and change to a Stadium train shuttle departing approximately every 7 minutes, from 2.37pm.
  From: Trains depart Platform 4 via the Western Concourse and travel express to Leederville then all stops to Butler between 9.36pm and 10.31pm, with some services terminating at Clarkson. If you’re leaving early you will need to take a Perth train shuttle from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to a timetabled service. After 10.31pm take a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Joondalup Line. The last connecting train departs Stadium Station at 11.49pm.
Mandurah Line To: Take a Mandurah Line train to Perth and change to an Armadale Line service to Perth Stadium Station.
  From: Take a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Mandurah Line. The last connecting train departs Stadium Station at 11.49pm.
Midland Line To: Take a train to East Perth Station and walk over the Windan Bridge. See a map of the walking route here.
Alternatively, take a Midland Line train to Perth and change to an Armadale Line service to Perth Stadium Station. The last connecting service will depart Perth Stadium Station at 11.49pm. 
  From: Walk over the Windan Bridge to East Perth Station, or take a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Midland Line. The last connecting train departs Stadium Station at 11.49pm.

Travel By Bus

The following bus services will operate for the Chelsea FC v Perth Glory match.

The suburban event bus network will not be operating before the match. 

Please remember special event buses run for ONE HOUR after the final siren.

Matagarup Bridge Bus Stands

Route  
661 To Matagarup Bridge Bus Stands (East Perth) – Route 661 will operate as a circlular route via Wellington St, Milligan St and St Georges/Adelaide Tce.   
Between 4.55pm and 7.55pm, buses will operate on a 3 – 5 minute frequency. Passengers will need to walk over Matagarup Bridge to get to Optus Stadium.
From Matagarup Bridge Bus Stands 
Between 9.25pm and 10.25pm, buses will operate on a 3 minute frequency from Matagarup Bridge Bus Stands (on the East Perth side of the bridge).

Perth Stadium Bus Station

From Perth Stadium Bus Station – buses now depart from STANDS 18 - 22
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.

652 From Perth Stadium Bus Station – STANDS 14 & 15
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.
653 From Perth Stadium Bus Station – STANDS 16 & 17
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.
654 From Perth Stadium Bus Station - buses now depart from STANDS 12 & 13, on the west side of Perth Stadium Bus Station
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.
656 From Perth Stadium Bus Station – buses now depart from STANDS 10 & 11
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.
657 From Perth Stadium Bus Station – buses now depart from STANDS 8 & 9
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.
658 From Perth Stadium Bus Station – STANDS 4 & 5
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.
659 From Perth Stadium Bus Station – STANDS 1, 2 & 3 
Buses will operate between 9.20pm and 10.20pm.

Service Disruptions

Some services will be affected on Optus Stadium event days. 

  • The pedestrian and level crossing on Moore St will be non-operational between 5.00pm and 12.00am. Pedestrians can use the McIver Station underpass at the east end of the station.
  • Thornlie Line trains will be cancelled between approximately 8.17pm and 11.17pm. Passengers can take the Armadale Line to connect with train replacement buses, operating between Thornlie and Cannington stations.
  • Trains on the Armadale and Midland lines will not stop at Claisebrook or McIver stations between approximately 8.49pm and 10.52pm. Train replacement buses will be operating during this time. Route 905 runs on a 10-minute frequency between Perth Busport and East Perth Station, stopping at Claisebrook, McIver and Perth stations and at Wellington St after Forrest Pl (Stop 12924).

Services will be busy, please allow extra travel time getting to and from the event.
