Perth CBD Australia Services 2026

Heading into the city for Australia Day? Avoid traffic by taking Transperth instead!
Transperth will be operating plenty of additional services across the day to get you to and from the event.
To travel on any Transperth service, you need to purchase a ticket. From 1 January 2026 our Go Anywhere Fare allows network wide travel for up to three hours for $2.80 using a SmartRider with Autoload or $3.50 using cash or contactless payments. Plan your journey using the Transperth JourneyPlanner before you travel and ensure you check the time of your last bus or train service.
Important Information
From 3pm on Australia Day, Langley Park and Perth Foreshore will be filled with entertainment for the City of Perth’s Australia Day. Fireworks and a drone show will take place from 8.30pm.
To ensure the safe movement of passengers after the 8.30pm fireworks and drone show:
- Only Mandurah Line passengers can board trains from Elizabeth Quay Station
- Passengers traveling on all other train lines will be directed to Perth Underground Station and Perth Station.
This arrangement will be in place between 8.45pm and 10.00pm only and does not impact those exiting from Elizabeth Quay Station.

Trains
Catch a train to Perth Station or Elizabeth Quay Station, both of which are walking distance to Langley Park and Perth Foreshore.
Buses
Buses will operate on a public holiday timetable with additional services on selected routes to bring passengers into the city for the firework. Please note some services will have a different terminating location and may be affected by deviations due to road closures in Perth CBD.
The following routes will have additional services:
- Routes: 31, 39, 40, 42, 386, 910, 930, 940, 950 (departing Galleria Bus Station), 960 (departing Curtin University Bus Station), 980

From event
Train System Map
Train services will operate on a public holiday timetable, with additional services operating after 9pm until approximately 10.30pm.
Buses will operate on a public holiday timetable with additional services operating after the fireworks and drone show on selected routes. Bus services that usually depart from St Georges Terrace will depart from Perth Busport, Wellington St or Elizabeth Quay Bus Station.
The following routes are running additional services to bring passengers home from the city after the fireworks:
- Routes with additional trips departing Perth Busport: 15, 82, 84, 85, 360, 386, 389, 403, 910, 960 (both directions to Mirrabooka Bus Station and Curtin University Bus Station), 970, 990
- Routes with additional trips departing Wellington St, Perth: 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 72, 177, 178, 910, 930, 935 (to Redcliffe Station), 940, 950 (to Morley Station via Galleria Bus Station), 960 (to Curtin University Bus Station), 980
- Routes with additional trips departing Elizabeth Quay Bus Station: 24, 30, 31, 34, 114, 115, 950 (to Morley Station via Galleria Bus Station), 995
- Routes with additional trips departing West Perth (Dumas House): 935
CAT services will operate to a public holiday timetable. The following CAT services will be affected by road closures:
- The Red and Purple CAT's will have deviations to their routes
- Blue CAT will not operate after 6pm.
Please check the time of your last bus service before you travel, as some routes will operate to a public holiday timetable which will not operate after the event.

Ferries will operate as follows:
- Departing Elizabeth Quay Jetty - every 15 minutes until 11pm and the last service will depart at 11.30pm.
- Departing Mends St Jetty – every 15 minutes until 11.15pm and the last service will depart at 11.45pm.
Passengers should be patient and acknowledge services will be crowded and due to capacity limits, please expect delays at the conclusion of the firework and drone show.
