Big Bash League - The Qualifier

Plan your line and length to the Scorchers. Take Transperth to the Big Bash League Finals - The Qualifier.

Your BBL finals match ticket to the Perth Scorchers includes travel on all Transperth services for three hours before and after each day’s play. Simply show your event ticket to the driver or inspector if asked.

Keep in mind you must have your event ticket on you to travel for no extra cost. If you’re collecting your ticket at the venue, you’ll need to pay a normal fare to get there.

Transperth services may vary across the different BBL matches, it is important to plan your journey for each day you are attending the cricket. Additional services will be running to get you to and from each match.

If you're driving to one of our stations, parking is free on weekends, if your event is on a weekday you will still need to pay for parking. For more information, click here.

Important Information 


Perth Station and Perth Underground are expected to be busy due to afternoon peak services and passengers travelling to the BBL Final - The Qualifier match. Please plan to arrive early and expect delays. 

  • Mandurah Line passengers are encouraged to catch the train to Cockburn Central Station and transfer to the Thornile-Cockburn Line to get to Perth Stadium Station.

Please note: When the temparture exceeds 37 degress, heat speed restricitions are imposed across all train lines. Travel times will be longer and may cause delays.

 

Getting to and from Perth Stadium:

Perth Scorchers v Sydney Sixers: Tuesday 20 January 

Times
Gates open: 3pm
Match commences: 4.30pm
Approx match finish time: 7:30pm

Travel by Train | Train System Map

To Perth Stadium
Direct Yanchep and Mandurah line services will not be operating before the match. Trains between Perth and Perth Stadium Station will operate on an approximate 4-8 minute frequency between 2.56pm and 5.03pm and then a 7-8 minute frequency to get you to the match. 

Trains on the Armadale Line, departing from Byford Station, and Thornlie-Cockburn Line, departing from Cockburn Central Station, stop at Perth Stadium Station.

Trains will not stop at McIver and Claisebrook stations on Airport, Ellenbrook and Midland lines to faciliate Optus Stadium services. More information can be found here

From Perth Stadium
All trains to Perth Station will depart from Platform 2 on the Eastern Concourse. Direct Yanchep and Mandurah line services will be operating after the match. Direct Fremantle Line services will not be operating after the match, however additional services will be operating on the Fremantle Line. 

Trains on the Armadale Line toward Byford Station and Thornlie-Cockburn Line towards Cockburn Central Station will depart from Platform 5/6 on the Eastern Concourse.


Travel by Bus

To Perth Stadium
The Suburban Event Bus Network will not be operating before the match. The Red CAT will extend to Matagarup Bridge via West Perth and Perth CBD from 3pm to get you to Perth Stadium. 

From Perth Stadium
The Suburban Event Bus Network will be operating for 45 minutes after the match. Alternatively, you can walk over the Matagarup Bridge and catch the Red CAT.
 

Service Disruptions
There will be disruptions to the Airport, Ellenbrook, Midland, Armadale and Thornile-Cockburn line to faciliate Optus Stadium services. More information can be found here.

Included travel for events

Some event organisers and venues include Transperth travel to and from the event in their ticket price. In some cases, event organisers may also arrange for us to provide additional bus or train services for people attending the event.

If you are going to an event, please check the travel options and plan your journey in advance to avoid inconvenience on the day. If your event is joint ticketed, you are entitled to travel on any Transperth service for three hours before, during and three hours after the event, or until end of service, whichever occurs first.

Please note paid parking has been extended to include all parking bays at Transperth train stations. This means when you park at a Transperth train station it will cost you $2 a day, or for any part of, between 5am and 9pm on weekdays. If your event is joint ticketed and you plan to park at a train station, you will need to use the Pay 'n' Display option to pay for parking. See Paid Parking for more information.
