Heading to Optus Stadium to watch the WAFL Grand Final? Your footy ticket includes travel on all Transperth services. 

Direct trains on the Mandurah and Yanchep lines will operate to get you home. The Suburban Event Bus Network will not operate before or after the match.

Travel By Train

Direct trains on the Mandurah and Yanchep lines will operate after the match.

To get you to the footy, Armadale Line trains stopping at Perth Stadium Station will depart Perth Station all day, with services increasing from 1.41pm.

 
 

To: Take a train to East Perth Station and walk under the Windan Bridge underpass. See a map of the walking route here. Alternatively, take an Airport Line train to Perth Station and transfer to Perth Stadium Station on the Armadale and Thornlie-Cockburn Lines. Airport Line services will not stop at Claisebrook and McIver stations between 1.37pm and 3.02pm. Services will operate express from East Perth Station to Perth Station during this time

From: Walk under the Windan Bridge underpass to East Perth Station, or take a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse, and transfer to the Airport Line. 


 

To: Armadale Line trains run frequently between Cannington and Perth stations, stopping at Perth Stadium Station.

From: Trains to Cannington Station depart frequently from Platform 6 via the Eastern Concourse at Perth Stadium Station.


 

To: Take a train to East Perth Station and walk under the Windan Bridge underpass. See a map of the walking route here. Alternatively, take an Ellenbrook Line train to Perth Station and transfer to a train to Perth Stadium Station on the Armadale and Thornlie-Cockburn Lines. Ellenbrook Line services will not stop at Claisebrook and McIver stations between 1.40pm and 3.00pm. Services will operate express from East Perth Station to Perth Station during this time. 

From: Walk under the Windan Bridge underpass to East Perth Station, or take a train to Perth from Platform 2 via the Eastern Concourse, and transfer to the Ellenbrook Line. 


 

To: Direct trains from Fremantle to Perth Stadium Station will not be operating before this event and for subsequent events at Optus Stadium. Take a timetabled Fremantle Line train to Perth and transfer to Perth Stadium Station on the Armadale and Thornlie-Cockburn Lines.

From: Take a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Fremantle Line.  No direct trains from Perth Stadium to Fremantle will not be operating after this event. 

 

To: Direct trains from Mandurah Station to Perth Stadium Station will be operating before the event, departing Mandurah between 12.45pm and 2.00pm. Direct trains will operate all stops to Cockburn Central then Ranford Road, Nicholson Road, and Thornlie stations before travelling express to Perth Stadium Station. Alternatively, take a timetabled train to Cockburn Central and transfer to a Thornlie-Cockburn Line train. 

Passengers boarding at Murdoch, Bull Creek or Canning Bridge stations should catch a timetabled train to Perth Underground and transfer to an Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn line train to Perth Stadium Station. 

From: Passengers travelling south of Murdoch Station should catch a direct train from Perth Stadium Station. Trains depart from Platform 5 via the Eastern Concourse at Perth Stadium Station, travelling express to Thornlie Station then all stops to Rockingham or Mandurah stations for approximately 60 minutes after the game. If you’re leaving early, or after this time, you will need to take a Thornlie-Cockburn Line train from Platform 6 via the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Mandurah Line at Cockburn Central Station.

If you are travelling to Murdoch, Bull Creek or Canning Bridge stations, catch a train to Perth from Platform 2 via the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Mandurah Line.


 

To: Take a train to East Perth Station and walk under the Windan Bridge underpass. See a map of the walking route here. Alternatively, take a Midland Line train to Perth Station and transfer to a train to Perth Stadium Station on the Armadale and Thornlie-Cockburn lines. Midland Line services will not stop at Claisebrook and McIver stations between 1.45pm and 2.50pm. Services will operate express from East Perth Station to Perth Station during this time. There will be a Midland Line closure between Ashfield and Midland Stations on the day of the event. Train replacement buses will be operating all day from these stations to Bayswater Station, where passengers can transfer to an Airport or Ellenbrook line train towards Perth. Please allow extra time if you are travelling from these stations.

From: Walk under the Windan Bridge underpass to East Perth Station, or take a train to Perth from Platform 2 via the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Midland Line. If you are travelling to stations between Ashfield and Midland stations you will need to take a train replacement bus from Bayswater Station, due to a line closure affecting these stations on the day of the event.


 

To: Thornlie-Cockburn Line trains run frequently between Cockburn Central and Perth stations, stopping at Perth Stadium Station. Thornlie-Cockburn Line trains will not stop at Victoria Park, Burswood, Claisebrook and McIver stations between 1.40pm and 9.50pm. Services will operate express from Carlisle Station to Perth Stadium Station and then express to Perth Station during this time. If you are travelling from the above stations, you will need to catch an Armadale Line train to Perth Stadium Station.

From: Trains to Cockburn Central Station depart frequently from Platform 6 via the Eastern Concourse. Thornlie-Cockburn Line trains will not stop at Burswood and Victoria Park stations between 12.35pm and 9.00pm. Services will operate express from Perth Stadium Station to Carlisle Station during this time. If you are travelling to Burswood or Victoria Park, you will need to catch an Armadale Line train from Platform 6 via the Eastern Concourse.


 

To: Direct trains from Yanchep Station to Perth Stadium Station will be operating before the event, departing Yanchep between 12.49 and 1.58pm. Alternatively, take a timetabled train to Perth Underground and transfer to a train to Perth Stadium Station.

From: Trains depart from Platform 4 via the Western Concourse and travel express to Leederville Station, then all stops to Clarkson or Yanchep stations for approximately 60 minutes after the game. If you're leaving early, or after this time, you will need to take a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer to the Yanchep Line. 

Travel By Bus

Important changes: 

The Red CAT is temporarily operating a shorter route, terminating at Hale St due to a road closure. During Optus Stadium events, services will extend to Matagarup Bridge between approximately 8.00 am and 7.00pm.

If you are travelling before, or after this time, you will need to catch an alternate service to Optus Stadium.

 
 
To Matagarup Bridge
Departing frequently from 1.10pm, stopping at designated Red CAT stops.  

From Matagarup Bridge - Stand 1
Buses will operate for one hour after the match. After this time, services will operate a shorter route, departing from Hale St. 
 

Armadale Line Passengers

Armadale Line trains will operate between Cannington and Perth stations, stopping at Perth Stadium Station.

Thornlie-Cockburn Line trains will operate between Cockburn Central and Perth stations, stopping at Perth Stadium Station. Trains will run all stops between Cockburn Central and Carlisle, running express to Perth Stadium Station and then express to Perth.

If you catch the train from Burswood or Victoria Park stations, you will need to catch an Armadale Line train.

You can also catch Bus Route 907 to Cannington Station as timetabled and transfer to the train to Perth Stadium Station.

 
 

Service Disruptions  

There will be a Midland Line closure between Bayswater and Midland Stations on the day of the event. Train replacement buses will be operating all day from these stations to Bayswater Station.

The Airport Line and Victoria Park, Burswood, Claisebrook and McIver stations will be disrupted to facilitate the footy. Visit the service update page for information on service disruptions.

Included travel for events

Some event organisers and venues include Transperth travel to and from the event in their ticket price. In some cases, event organisers may also arrange for us to provide additional bus or train services for people attending the event.

If you are going to an event, please check the travel options and plan your journey in advance to avoid inconvenience on the day. If your event is joint ticketed, you are entitled to travel on any Transperth service for three hours before, during and three hours after the event, or until end of service, whichever occurs first.

Please note paid parking has been extended to include all parking bays at Transperth train stations. This means when you park at a Transperth train station it will cost you $2 a day, or for any part of, between 5am and 9pm on weekdays. If your event is joint ticketed and you plan to park at a train station, you will need to use the Pay 'n' Display option to pay for parking. See Paid Parking for more information.
