New to travelling on our services? Here are some things you’ll need to know.
Ticketing
Transperth's two-zone fare cap means that you'll never pay more than a two-zone fare no matter how far you travel. You can use a SmartRider or buy a cash ticket* and both can be used across all Transperth train, bus and ferry services.
SmartRiders
SmartRider is a reusable smart card which can save you up to 20% off your fare**. They are available to buy at Transperth InfoCentres, retail sales outlets and SmartRider Hubs.
SmartRider Hubs have been installed at Ellenbrook, Whiteman Park, Ballajura and Morley stations. SmartRiders are $10 each and you will need to load a minimum of $10 onto the card during the purchase.
Cash Tickets
These can be purchased onboard buses or from ticket machines at train stations and ferry jetties.
Every Sunday Free
Every Sunday, travel is free for all SmartRider holders. You will need to tag on and off with your SmartRider but you will not be charged a fare.
Free travel is available on all Transperth bus, train and ferry trips from first service until last service.
Please note that the free travel does not apply to late night services after midnight on Saturday and if you are travelling without a SmartRider then you will need to purchase a cash ticket.
*Please note no change will be given if you pay with cash onboard a Transperth bus. If you must pay with cash, then please pay with the exact money. To find out how much your fare will be please plan your journey on the Transperth JourneyPlanner or visit Transperth fares.
**Using the Autoload feature.
