New to Transperth? Here you’ll find everything you need to know to get started.

Journey Planning

Before you travel, it’s important you plan your journey. The JourneyPlanner feature on our website and app will provide you with useful details like what service you’ll need to take and how much it will cost.

Need assistance? If you require special assistance at a train station, call 1800 800 022 at least an hour before you intend to travel.

When travelling with us, you have the option to buy a cash ticket or a SmartRider card.

SmartRiders – these reusable cards are the cheapest and most convenient way to travel with Transperth, giving you a 10% discount off the cash fare.

You can buy a SmartRider at Transperth InfoCentre or from one of the many Retail Sales Outlets across Perth. A Standard SmartRider costs $20 and includes $10 of travel.

Cash tickets – these can be purchased from ticket machines at train stations and ferry jetties, and from bus drivers. In addition to single trip tickets, there are also cost-saving DayRider or Family Rider tickets available for groups that allow a full day of travel.

We have 23,974 parking bays at train stations across the network. When you park at a Transperth train station during the week it will cost you $2. The fee applies per 24hr period or part thereof.

Parking is free at train stations on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

There are two ways to pay for parking, SmartParker and Pay ‘n’ Display. Find out how each one works here.

Got a big event coming up? Many events across Perth have public transport included in the ticket. Check out our event information before you plan your journey.
