Transperth is a cost-effective and easy way to get to and from school. Here's what you need to know to get your child ready.
Plan your Journey
Just as the world's greatest explorers never travelled without a map it's important you plan where you're going. And always make plans for getting home too. It's the safe and smart way to travel.
Let's have a go at planning a journey now. Play our virtual game to get started and then try a real-life journey using the Journey Planner.
For more information:
Use our online JourneyPlanner
Enter your starting point, and where you need to go and the JourneyPlanner will suggest the best route for you. It will also provide you with detailed directions, distances, fare information, a map and any service disruptions you need to be aware of.
Remember to change the date in JourneyPlanner to a school day.
If you are planning a journey for the first day of a new school year you should plan your journey no more than two weeks out.
Download the Transperth App
The official Transperth app is available for download on iOS and Android devices.
With the app you will be able to:
- Find the next services from any stop, station or jetty
- Plan your journey and view it on a map
- ‘Watch’ your journey so you can countdown to when your service arrives
- Save your favourite journeys for quick access to timetable information
- View disruption and fare information
- Get your SmartRider balance.
Check the bus routes servicing your school
Some schools have multiple bus routes that can take your children to school. Find out which bus routes go to your child’s school, and download a timetable. (Remember to change the date to a school day.)
Bus services are always being reviewed and updated to ensure that they are being used in the best way to meet demand. So remember to check your bus services two weeks out from the start of the new term.
